Mike McClure Benefit Golf Tournament

Hoopla Events was proud to organize a fundraiser in September or 2008 at Capital City Golf Club in Olympia for Mike McClure. Mike suffered a serious motorcycle accident in June of 2008 in which he lost his right arm and right leg.  Friends, family, and co-workers all attended to help raise money for the mounting medical and rehabilitation costs for Mike and his family.  People who didn’t even know Mike were inspired to donate money and sponsor holes to help this amazing man.   It was an amazing day filled with lots of love and we were blessed to have Mike and his family with us! We even were able to celebrate Mike & his wife Gina’s 40th birthdays.

Hoopla Events organized the golf teams, volunteers, a raffle and a terrific BBQ dinner and awards ceremony afterwards.  There were opportunities for everyone to get involved in the fun, even if they weren’t a golfer.  We not only loved planning the event, but loved being a part of helping Mike and his family on the road to recovery.

UPDATE:  Three years after his accident, Mike was able, with his prosthetic leg, to do the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk with his friends, The Breastie Boys.  Way to go Mike!!
